The Specimen Strikes Again

Dustin Johnson is on a tear. The best two-tournament win streak you could achieve. Oh, how things have changed for The Specimen in a matter of weeks.

When will Dustin get his major win? 2016 U.S. Open.

How good can he be? 2016 WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

DJ is now in the business of answering questions. He’s had the questions for years now, ever since we’ve realized his freakish athletic prowess on the golf course. But as of a couple of weeks ago, he’s forced us to question ourselves and re-evaluate who we’ve deemed as the most dominate players in the game.

Enough with the “Big 3.” That’s as antiquated as the original trio themselves (no disrespect to the gods). First it was Rory, the most talented we’ve ever seen. Then Jordan, oh my god he’s Bobby Jones. Then Rickie, the rockstar. Then #SB2K12. Then Jason. Then Jason, the terminator. Then Dustin, welcome to the party! Finally! Then Dustin, oh he’s gonna be here awhile.

He’s the Terrestrial Michael Phelps. I’m calling it before Rio.

As a sport, we’ve phased out of the dominating Tiger Era and are now in the golden age of pure competition. This crème de la crème of the Tour today are in a constant battle week-in and week -out, and new challengers pop out of nowhere with dreams of glory and fame.

Speaking of new challengers, let’s give Scott Piercy his due credit. The guy is so solid and held is ground in both the U.S. Open and WGC finishing with matching runner-ups (made over a milli for his second this week at WGC – when did we start this practice?).

Some players are participating in a major this week – Wimbledon. All Brits and one American. See if you recognize him (G.O.A.T.):

If you look closely: D-Will is in Green (why wouldn’t he be?), Westy in gray behind him, Poults far left, and Donald back left in Khaki (almost invisible).

*If you noticed, DJ wore the same outfit on Sunday as he did at the U.S. Open. Maybe he forgot to unpack? I imagine it will make another appearance very soon #scripting.

*Good luck to both Bryan Bros. in the Web event this week!
