This board will change. But I hope it doesn’t. Kevin Chappell is a young gun in my eyes but I guess it’s almost been 10 years since he won the NCAA individual title in 2008 at UCLA. Since, he’s had one victory – coming on the Web (2010) – and a lot of runner-ups on the Big Boy Tour (six). Most notably, he lost in a playoff  to Rory and RyMo at the Tour Champ last year.

Basically the dude is a pure-bred stud just passing the time before he starts winning. That wait may end today, but he does have some other young’ns on his tail, including Cowboy Kevin Tway and the Australian Jordan Spieth (Cameron Smith).

Cameron Smith is in a small elite category of currently three players that includes Matt Fitzy and Jordan Spieth. All 22-23 years old, look kind of similar considering they’re from different parts of the globe, and are absolute assassins on the course. We all know Spieth and Fitz now more and more (Ryder Cup player), but this Cameron Smith kid. First came on the big scene at Chambers with a T-4 finish that is absolutely incredible. Last year he finished T-2 after losing in a playoff to real Jordan Spieth at the Emirates Aussie Masters. Hasn’t cracked the top 10 so far this year on Tour but that will end today.

There’s always top class players breathing down your neck on Sunday at any Tour event, but I think Kevin Chappell will come away with his first W today. Full disclosure: I know almost nothing about the course this week and am basing this prediction on pure overall player performance in the last year or so. Also, he just made a 10 ft bird on 3 to go ahead 1 so LET’S DO THis (don’t sue me Michael Breed please).
